Holland

One of the most awesome things about Aachen is definitely its location. My place is only about 1km from the border with the Netherlands, and maybe 2km to the point where Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium meet. Since all the shops in Germany are closed on Sundays and holidays, I figured I would take a walk a few nights ago to check out the surrounding area and grab some food.

I had walked by this awesome barn with some of the Germans when we had gone to nearby Vaals the day before. The building is built in the middle of a pond, complete with a nearby field of Holstein cattle.

When I went by the next evening, there was a group of highland cattle milling around, so I had to get a picture for Mom since she gets so excited every time she sees any.

However, probably some of the best things I've seen when walking around are the signs around Aachen. This one was actually just across the border in Vaals - I think it's hilarious how they make it impossible to not get the message, despite language!
